Taide soluttautuu osaksi Turun yliopiston kampusta 27.9.–15.10.2023. Kolme taiteilijavetoista toimijaa – taiteilijayhdistys Arte, Ehkä-tuotanto ja osuuskunta Poesia – tuovat yliopistolle monitaiteisen kokonaisuuden, joka lähestyy taide- ja tiedemaailman risteymiä sekä saavutettavuutta erilaisten interventioiden kautta.
Interventiot kutsuvat unelmoimaan ja tarkastelemaan yliopistoa henkisenä ja fyysisenä tilana. Teokset tulkitsevat ympäristöään, avaavat uusia keskusteluja ja tuovat esiin luovan ajattelun eri puolia. Lisäksi hankkeen puitteissa toteutettavat kävelykierros ja työpaja sukeltavat yliopistomaailman rakenteisiin uusia suuntia etsien.
Yhteistuotantohankkeen ovat rahoittaneet Turun yliopisto, Turku 2029 -säätiö sekä Suomen Kulttuurirahasto.
Arte | Outimaija Hakala, IC98, Anne Järvi, Isto Rahkila, Bita Razavi, Anna Tahkola & Aurora Ala-Hakula, Jani Petteri Virta
Taiteilijayhdistys Arte on valikoinut jäsentaiteilijoiltaan viisi teoskokonaisuutta, jotka levittäytyvät Yliopistonmäen sisä- ja ulkotiloihin. Teokset on tehty varta vasten yliopistolle, ja ne kaikki käsittelevät omalla tavallaan instituutiota ja sen ympärilleen luomia merkityksiä. Näiden lisäksi yliopiston päärakennuksessa on esillä päivitetty versio taiteilijapari IC98:n vuonna 1998 toteuttamasta Hallintorakennus-teoksesta, joka tarkastelee tilan arkkitehtuuria, ja alakampukselle, Arcanumin ja Publicumin väliin, kohoaa Bita Razavin yliopiston avoimuutta kommentoiva teos A Gift to Turku.
Ehkä-tuotanto | Eséte Sutinen, Zipora Ogola ja Irene Omwami
Ehkä-tuotanto osallistuu uni² -hankkeeseen etiopialais-suomalaisen tanssi- ja esitystaiteilija Eséte Sutisen paikkasidonnaisella Rest as a … -teoksella. Sutisen yhdessä työryhmänsä muusikko Zipora Ogolan ja lukija Irene Omwamin kanssa valmistama kestollinen esitys levittäytyy yliopiston sisä- ja ulkotiloihin. Yleisöä lempeästi osallistavan luku- ja lepotapahtuman keskiössä on lepääminen, keskeneräisyys ja hauraus.
Poesia | Taneli Viljanen, Poesian kirjailijat
Yhteisöllinen kustantamo Poesia tuo runoutta Feeniks- ja Arcanum-kirjastoihin kokonaisuudessa, joka koettelee tieteellisen luokittelun totunnaisuuksia sekä lahjan ja lainan suhdetta. Tuttujen kirjastoluokitusten lomaan syntyy uusia kategorioita ja hyllyille nousee Poesian uusia sekä täsmävalikoituja teoksia, joita käyttäjät voivat ottaa ikuiseen lainaan. Infonäytöillä kiertää muutakin kuin informaatiota, ja minkä vain kirjan välistä voi löytää säkeen tai pari. Lisäksi tapahtuman ajan on kuultavana runoilija Taneli Viljasen kestollinen ääniteos Pimeä kuu, äänivarjot.

Arte, Ehkä-production and Poesia: uni²
Art infiltrates the University of Turku campus 27.9.–15.10.2023. Three artist-driven actors – the artists’ association Arte, Ehkä-production and the co-operative publisher Poesia – will bring to the university a multi-artistic project that approaches the intersection of art and science as well as the question of accessibility through various interventions.
The interventions invite one to dream and observe the university as a mental and physical space. The artworks interpret their surroundings, open up new conversations and highlight different facets of creative thinking. In addition, the project’s walking tour and workshop will dive into the structures of the academic world in search of new directions.
The co-production project is funded by the University of Turku, Turku 2029 Foundation and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Artists’ association Arte has selected five works by its member artists, which are displayed in the indoor and outdoor spaces of Yliopistonmäki. The site specific pieces have been created for the project, and they all deal in their own way with the university institution and its meanings. In addition these, an updated version of the 1998 work by the artist couple IC98, Hallintorakennus, which explores the architecture of the space, will be on display in the main building of the university, while A Gift to Turku, a work by Bita Razavi commenting on the openness of the university, will stand between the Arcanum and the Publicum on the lower campus.
Ehkä-production | Eséte Sutinen, Zipora Ogola and Irene Omwami
Ehkä-production participates in the uni² project with the site specific work Rest as a … by the Ethiopian-Finnish dance and performance artist Eséte Sutinen. Sutinen, together with her team, musician Zipora Ogola and reader Irene Omwami, create a performance that will be spread over the university’s indoor and outdoor spaces. The reading and resting event, which gently engages the audience, focuses on resting, incompleteness and fragility.
Poesia | Taneli Viljanen, Poesia authors
The co-operative publisher Poesia brings poetry to the Feeniks and Arcanum libraries in a collection that tests the truths of scientific classification and the relationship between a gift and a loan. Among the familiar library classifications new categories are created, and Poesia’s new and carefully selected pieces are added to the shelves for users to borrow for forever loan. The information displays are not just about information, and you can find a verse or two between any book. In addition, poet Taneli Viljanen’s durational piece of sound art Pimeä kuu, äänivarjot will be available for listening during the event.
