Horizontal-sooloteosta kehystää kiinnostus Gilles Deleuzen ja Félix Guattarin kulttiteokseen A Thousand Plateaus – Capitalism and Schizophrenia, jonka yksi keskeinen ajatus on horisontaalissa tasossa levittäytyvä maailmanjärjestys hierarkkisen sijaan.
Teos kysyy, mitä tavallisen elämän ja esityksen välinen ero sulkee pois? Onko mahdollista luoda sellainen esitys, joka ei ole arjesta kohotettu tapahtuma? Minkälaista näyttämöllä oloa naisen ja tanssijan näkökulmat silloin ehdottavat?

The solo performance Horizontal is framed by an interest in A Thousand Plateaus – Capitalism and Schizophrenia, a book by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.
The starting point of the piece is a question about whether it’s possible to create a performance that is not elevated from the ordinary? How to deal with the threshold between life surrounding and performance, and in what ways is this threshold excluding reality?
