Esoteeristen ja törkyisten DIY-esitysten ilta, jossa esiintyminen on vastarintaa kehnossa maailmassa, jossa on kuitenkin parempi nauraa kuin itkeä.
Iso-Britannian ja Suomen välillä toimiva kokeellinen tanssibändi immigrants and animals eli tanssitaiteilijat Jamila Johnson-Small ja Mira Kautto järjestävät kolmiosaisia The Lone Wolf, the Dark Horse and the Underdog -esitysiltoja, joista Looking down and backwards… on järjestyksessään toinen. Kutomolla lauantaina 13. helmikuuta koettavan illan teemaksi on muotoutumassa ylösnousemus.
Tapahtumassa nähdään esitykset immigrants and animalsilta (UK/FI) ja TRACEYEMINSOUNDSYSTEMiltä (UK), sekä tammikuussa 2016 järjestetyn avoimen haun kautta valitut videoteokset Diina Bukarevalta (FI), Laura Puskalta (FI) ja Blythe Smithiltä (FI).

immigrants and animals: Looking down and backwards…
A night of trashy and possibly esoteric music-filled performance-as-strategy-for-some-kind-of-resistance, for people who are generally unimpressed with the world but think it is better to laugh than to cry, to kiss than to kill.
The Lone Wolf, the Dark Horse and the Underdog is a series of performance evenings in three parts organized by experimental dance outfit immigrants and animals formed by dance artists Jamila Johnson-Small (UK) and Mira Kautto (FI). Looking down and backwards… taking place at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo on Saturday 13 February is the second of these artist-led Finnish-UK exchange performance events. The theme of the night will be resurrection.
The event includes performances from immigrants and animals (UK/FI) and TRACEYEMINSOUNDSYSTEM (UK), and films by Diina Bukareva (FI), Laura Puska (FI), and Blythe Smith (FI) selected through an open call organized in January 2016.
