Koreografi-tanssija Kaisa Nieminen pitää tulevaan teosprosessiin linkittyvän avoimen työpajan tanssin ammattilaisille ja harrastajille.
Työpajassa uppoudutaan tanssivan ruumiin kokemuksellisuuteen; kiinnostuksena virittäytyminen tanssimisen intimiteetin, sensuaalisuuden ja kokonaisvaltaisesti tuntevan ja ilmaisevan ruumiin äärelle. Työpajassa työskennellään hengityksen, äänenkäytön, lantiosta lähtevän grindauksen, body waven sekä katseen parissa. Syvennymme tanssimisen ja äänenkäytön suhteeseen; millaisia yhteyksiä luomme itseemme ja toistemme välille.
Työpajaan tarvitset liikkumiseen soveltuvat vaatteet, vaaleapohjaiset sisäkengät, myös polvisuojat (ei pakolliset). Työpaja linkittyy Niemisen ja Marika Peuran tulevaan teosprojektiin Velvet Grind (työnimi) ja pohjautuu heidän aiempaan työskentelyyn tanssiteoksen down below things shudder (2023) parissa.

Kaisa Nieminen on helsinkiläinen tanssija-koreografi. Nieminen on kiinnostunut tanssivan kehon kokemuksellisuudesta; siitä, miten tanssimme omaa todellisuuttamme ulos, ruumiin emotionaalisuudesta ja siitä, miten olemme tanssin kautta yhteydessä itseemme, toisiimme sekä yhteiskunnan rakenteisiin.

Kaisa Nieminen: Velvet Grind – open workshop
Choreographer-dancer Kaisa Nieminen is holding an open workshop in connection with an upcoming artistic work process. The workshop is aimed at dance professionals and enthusiasts.
In the workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the experientiality of the dancing body; tuning into the intimacy of dancing, sensuality, and deeply feeling and expressing the body. We will work with our breath, voice, the pelvic grinding movement, body wave, and the gaze. We delve into the relationship between dancing and the use of our voice; what kind of connections we create between ourselves and each other through that.
Bring comfortable clothes for moving, indoor sneakers with white soles, and kneepads (if you have ones). The workshop is linked to Nieminen and choreographer Marika Peura’s future choreographic project Velvet Grind (working title) and is based on their previous choreographic work down below things shudder (2023).

Kaisa Nieminen is a dancer-choreographer based in Helsinki, Finland. Nieminen is interested in the experiential nature of the dancing body; the emotionality and the way we connect to ourselves, others, and to the societal structures through dancing — the politics and poetics of the dancing body.
