kosmosomsok on nelinäytöksinen ulkotilassa tapahtuva esityksellinen sukellus maailmankaikkeuteen ja sen historiaan. Maailmankaikkeuden ikä, 13,8 miljardia vuotta, on mahdoton käsittää. Yhtä lailla vaikeaa on ymmärtää, mitä kaikkea tuona aikana on tapahtunut ja miten se on muovannut ihmistä. Miten voimme kehollisina olentoina kokea olevamme osa meidät synnyttänyttä universumia? Voimmeko mitenkään tavoittaa sen uskomattoman pitkiä ajanjaksoja tai käsittämättömiä mittasuhteita? Tuleeko aika koetuksi vain muuntamalla se paikoiksi tai liikkeeksi, ja paikantumalla itse niihin?
kosmosomsok on osa Simo Kellokummun taiteellista post-doc projektia xeno/exo/astrochoreoreadings. Teos kantaesitetään osana Ehkä-tuotannon ohjelmistoa syyskuussa 2021.

Esitys alkaa jokaisen itsenäisesti kuunneltavalla osuudella. Osallistujien toivotaan ottavan mukaan omat johdolliset kuulokkeet, sekä varustautumaan säänmukaisella vaatetuksella. Esityksen jälkeen yleisö on tervetullut jäämään Kutomolle keskustelemaan työryhmän kanssa pienen tarjoilun äärelle.

kosmosomsok is a four-act outdoor performative plunge into the Universe and its history. The age of the universe, 13.8 billion years, is impossible to comprehend. Equally difficult is to understand what has happened during that time and how it has shaped humans. How can we as bodily beings experience being part of the Universe that has made us? What can we do to reach and embody its incredibly long periods of time or incomprehensible proportions? Will time be experienced only by transforming it into a place or movement, and locating yourself into them?
kosmosomsok is part of Simo Kellokumpu’s artistic post.doctoral project xeno/exo/astrochoreoreadings. The piece premieres in Turku as part of Ehkä-production’s autumn programme in September 2021.

The performance taking place outdoors starts and ends at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo.
The performance begins with a part that is to be listened individually. The participants are kindly asked to bring their own wired headphones, and to prepare with weatherproof clothing. After the performance the audience is invited for a post-performance gathering with drinks and snacks at Kutomo.
