Pimeä Hedelmä -bändi, queer art duo Amanda & Lydia sekä valosuunnittelija Luca Sirviö työstävät parhaillaan Nykytaidetila Kutomolla uutta tanssiteosta the weight of being sexy, joka saa ensi-iltansa Ehkä-tuotannon XS – Uuden tanssin ja esitystaiteen festivaalilla joulukuussa. the weight of being sexy syventyy seksikkyyteen; sen kokemuksellisuuteen, performatiivisuuteen ja näistä nousevaan kehollisuuteen. Teoksessa tanssijat tutkivat liikkeellisesti seksikkyyteen liittyviä latauksia, odotuksia, nautintoja ja epävarmuuksia.
Lokakuisen residenssijakson päätteeksi työryhmä kaipaa kohtaamista yleisön kanssa ja toivottaa kaikki prosessista kiinnostuneet tervetulleiksi katsomaan avointa läpimenoharjoitusta. Harjoitus kestää noin tunnin. Esitystilaan ei ole mahdollista saapua myöhässä, joten osallistujia pyydetään olemaan ajoissa paikalla.

Pimeä Hedelmä X Amanda & Lydia: the weight of being sexy
The band Pimeä Hedelmä, the queer art duo Amanda & Lydia and lighting designer Luca Sirviö are currently working on their new piece the weight of being sexy at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo. the weight of being sexy delves into the experience of sex appeal, the performativity of it, and the corporeality these create. In the piece, the dancers explore the tensions, expectations, pleasures and insecurities of being sexy. The performance premieres at Ehkä-production’s XS – Festival for New Dance and Performance at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo in December 2023.
At the end of their October residency, the working group is wishing to have an encounter with an audience, and therefore there is an invitation for people interested in the process to join an open run-through rehearsal. The rehearsal lasts approximately one hour. The audience is asked to be on time as no entry is possible once the rehearsal has started.

Ehkä-production follows safer space guidelines. Unfortunately, the space at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo is not fully accessible; there are stairs and there are no accessible toilets at the venue.
