Tashi Iwaokan ohjaamassa kaksipäiväisessä Butoh perusteet -työpajassa osallistujat käyttävät kehojaan butoh-harjoituksen pohjana ja syventyvät kehojensa muodonmuutoskykyyn. Kuvitteluvoiman ohjaamana työpajassa tutkitaan tuntematonta – tavoitteena on antaa kehon ’tulla itsekseen’.
Työpaja on avoin kaikille kiinnostuneille eikä vaadi aiempaa kokemusta buto-työskentelystä. Työpajan kieli on englanti.

Esitystaiteilija, liikkuja ja butoh-harjoittaja Tashi Iwaoka on harjoittanut butoh-pohjaista kehotyöskentelyä yli 10 vuotta. Hän tutustui butoh-työskentelyyn ensimmäistä kertaa vuonna 1997 Kazuo Ohnon ja Kim Itohin ohjauksessa Japanissa. Vuodesta 2020 lähtien Iwaoka on palannut liikeharjoituksensa juurille tutkimaan mitä butoh oikeasti on.

Ehkä-tuotannossa noudatetaan turvallisemman tilan ohjeistusta. Valitettavasti Nykytaidetila Kutomon tilat eivät ole esteettömät. Rakennuksessa on portaita, eikä siellä ole esteetöntä wc-tilaa.
Tashi Iwaoka: Butoh foundation
In the two-day butoh foundation workshop by Tashi Iwaoka the participants work on their bodies as the foundation of butoh practice and tap into their ability for metamorphosis. Led by the power of imagery the unknown within is touched to see what can be – the aim is to let the body ‘become’.
The workshop is open to everyone interested. No prior knowledge or training in butoh is required. The workshop language is English.

Turku-based performance artist, mover and butoh practitioner Tashi Iwaoka has practiced butoh-based bodywork for over 10 years. His first butoh experience happened in 1997 with Kazuo Ohno and Kim Itoh in Japan. Since 2020 Iwaoka has revisited his roots for movement practice and expression i.e. butoh in search of what his butoh is.

Ehkä-production follows safer space guidelines. Unfortunately, the space at Contemporary Art Space Kutomo is not fully accessible; there are stairs and there are no accessible toilets at the venue.
