Materia and potentiality have always been the ghosts of Western metaphysics. Science, progress and logic have always been based on the elimination of any ambiguity. The dance piece materia, potency wants to give back the ambiguity to things and return to the vagueness that doesn’t take for granted correct understandings. The piece wants to be unknown, ambiguous, imminent, treacherous, and disappointing for any expectation. It wants to be open, multiple, surprising, and encouraging. A universe of pure potentiality.
