Kuva- ja esitystaiteilijoiden Sara Kovamäen ja Liina Kuittisen teos Kevätsavut on aistimus ja maisema, jossa voi vierailla, oleilla tai viipyä sen reunoilla. Se on hiljaa sisäänsä sulkeva, mutta reunoilta jatkuvasti avoinna. Se kiinnittyy vuoden ja valon kiertoon ja merkkaa pimeän väistymistä ja valoisamman ajan alkua ja paluuta takaisin pimeyteen. Se on kiertojen ja kulkujen hymähtelyä, muutoksen kähinää.
Jos katsoo, voi pimeimmästä talvesta nähdä kevääseen. Odotus on ajankohtainen.
Paljastutaan ja sittenkään paljastamatta liikaa: jonkin on väistyttävä muutoksen tieltä.
Voihan olla että mikään ei syty.
Pandemian vuoksi Ehkä-tuotannon kevään 2021 ohjelmistosta XS-festivaalille siirtynyt esitys Kevätsavut on kytenyt, kertaalleen sammunut ja sytyttäytyy nyt uudelleen joulukuussa Nykytaidetila Kutomolle.

The performance Kevätsavut (spring smokes) by visual and performance artists Sara Kovamäki and Liina Kuittinen is a sensation and landscape that can be visited, spent time with, or lingered on its borders. It quietly closes inside of itself, but is constantly open on its borders. It attaches itself to the annual cycle and to the cycle of light marking the recession of the dark, the beginning of the lighter season, and the return to the darkness again. It is blinking of the cycles and passages, rasping of the change.
If looked upon, from the darkest winter one can see to the spring. The wait is timely.
Things get revealed but not too much: something has to step aside out of the way of change.
It is possible that nothing catches light.
Kevätsavut, already postponed from Ehkä-production’s spring program 2021 due to the pandemic situation, has been smoldering, burning out, but ignites again at the Contemporary Art Space Kutomo in December.
